Job Overview
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the school’s internal and external communications, brand presence, and community engagement. As the school’s first dedicated marketing hire, this role will establish systems, processes, and messaging that clearly communicate the school’s mission, academic strengths, and values to current and prospective families.
This position works closely with school leadership to ensure consistent, professional, and accurate communication across all platforms, supporting enrollment, retention, and community trust.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain consistent school messaging and brand identity.
Manage and create content for the school’s website, newsletters, and social media platforms.
Support enrollment efforts through marketing materials, campaigns, and events.
Document school life through photos, videos, and stories (events, academics, community activities).
Coordinate communication calendars and ensure timely delivery of content.
Support school leadership with presentations, announcements, and official communications.

Family Support and Communication
Ensure families receive clear, timely, and professional communication.
Support internal communication systems (emails, newsletters, announcements).
Collaborate with administration to communicate academic programs, events, and policies.
Help strengthen the sense of community and trust between the school and families.

Program Administration
Establish and maintain communication workflows and documentation.
Track marketing activities and basic performance indicators (engagement, inquiries, visibility).
Maintain organized archives of content, media, and branding materials.
Follow school policies related to confidentiality, student privacy, and approvals.
Collaborate with leadership on long-term communication and enrollment strategies.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Education, or a related field.

  • Previous experience in marketing, communications, or content creation (school or education experience preferred but not required).

  • Experience managing social media, digital content, or brand communications.

  • Familiarity with enrollment-driven or community-based organizations is a plus.

  • Experience working in multicultural or bilingual environments is an asset.


Skills and Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English required; Spanish strongly preferred or required depending on the school).

  • Ability to create clear, compelling, and accurate content for multiple audiences.

  • Basic graphic design and visual storytelling skills (e.g., Canva or similar tools).

  • Understanding of digital marketing platforms (social media, email, website content).

  • Strong organizational and project-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
