EMPLOYMENT

International American School of Cancun is an established, growing institution with 25 years of service in an internationally diverse community in one of the premiere vacation spots in the world.   Our school prides itself in creating a values-based family style learning environment that encourages positive student leadership. We hire dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who are committed to providing a quality, caring and learning environment for our students.

Teaching abroad is a great way to develop both personally and professionally. It requires flexibility, an open mind, and creativity to work with the resources that are available. Our school strives to provide the best resources possible in an international situation.

There are many cultural differences that North Americans, in general, find difficult to deal with on a daily basis.  People often arrive late for appointments, look at childbearing differently, and standards of efficiency are different.   The International American School of Cancun is a growing project serving a community that is also international.  We need commitment, dedication, and enthusiasm, and offer in exchange an experience in another culture, a tropical location, and an opportunity to make one place in the world a little better.

Adapting to a different culture requires exceptional FLEXIBILITY.  Relocating to another county means a different language and a different set of customs, which may cause frustrations and misunderstandings.  The responsibility to adapt will be yours, not that of the citizens of the host country.  Your ability to adapt will be your most important guideline, perhaps more important than your past experiences.  The presence or absence of this characteristic will be a very important factor in your work as a teacher in an overseas American school.  You will be living in a foreign country and representing both the United States and the International American School during your stay.  You will be subject to Mexican law and you will be living within the Mexican culture.

Cancun is a rapidly growing city with many modern amenities. Stores such as Costco, Sam`s Club, Walmart, Sears, Forever21, Zara and many more can be found here. There are also chain restaurants and food establishments like Starbucks, McDonalds, Burger King, KFC, Chilis, Applebees, along with many local treasures. The beaches are wonderful and there is a wide variety of activities to enjoy in your free time.
